FAQS

  • Daredevils Basketball Academy provides young athletes with a structured and supportive basketball experience that includes weekly training, games, and a strong focus on skill development and confidence building.

Players are placed into age based teams and take part in a local basketball competition throughout both the summer and winter seasons. Our academy is designed to help athletes learn the game, improve their skills, build confidence, and enjoy being part of a team.

    Weekly Training

All players attend one training session each week where they work on fundamental basketball skills such as dribbling, shooting, passing, footwork, and game awareness. Sessions are fun, energetic, and tailored to each age group to help players continue improving throughout the season.

    Training schedule:

    Wednesdays | 4:30pm–5:30pm
Location: The REPAT (Tim Hughes Stadium) 216 Daws Rd, Daw Park

    Thursdays | 5:00pm–6:00pm
Location: Springbank Secondary College. 267 Daws Rd, Pasadena

Players are welcome to attend whichever session best suits their schedule.

    Game Days

Daredevils teams compete in the SAJBL (South Australia Junior Basketball League), with games played on Saturday mornings throughout the season. Game times and venues vary each week depending on the competition schedule.

Players are placed into a team for the season, giving them the opportunity to build friendships, develop teamwork, and grow together on the court. Each team is supported by a Daredevils coach on game day, who guides the players, helps them apply what they’ve learned at training, and encourages them throughout the game.

Families are also an important part of game day, with parents occasionally helping out with simple roles such as scoring during matches.

  • Official Daredevils uniforms are required and are available to order via our website.

Please note there is a 6 week lead time, so we recommend ordering as soon as possible to ensure your child doesn’t miss the next production batch.

We do have very limited stock of spares that we can loan to you while you wait for your uniform to arrive.

  • The Daredevils Academy enter teams into the SAJBL (South Australia Junior Basketball League). The Summer Season starts on the 25th October 2025, and complete season dates are available on the SAJBL website.

In addition, there may be opportunities for those who are interested to take part in local tournaments throughout the year.

    SEASON DATES

  • To help accommodate everyone’s schedules, we offer two different training sessions each week.

  • No - we are committed to maintaining girls-only competition options, so there is no requirement for girls to play against boys.

For those who would like the opportunity to play in mixed competition, this is something we can also look to offer, provided there are enough players interested in doing the same.

  • Our focus right now is on female athletes, but we plan to expand to include boys’ teams in the future. This will also make things more convenient for families with both boys and girls who want to play.

  • The cost to play with the Daredevils Academy is $420 per season. This includes 15 games each season, a dedicated coach per team, and a weekly academy-level training session. Uniforms are an additional cost.

In addition, there is a mandatory fee that all players must pay directly to Basketball Australia to cover insurance. This is approximately $34.47 per year.

  • You can always reach out through our Contact Us page. We’re happy to answer any questions you have.
