1. Overview

Welcome to Daredevils Basketball Academy! We’re proud to provide a safe, fun and inclusive basketball environment where athletes can develop their skills, teamwork and love of the game. By participating in Daredevils training sessions and/or games, you confirm that you are the participant ̶ or the parent/guardian of the participant ̶ and agree to the terms and conditions of membership.

2. Membership and Fees

Membership is ongoing unless cancelled by either party. Fees are set each season and must be paid in full before the first game of the season. Payments can be made by bank deposit. All fees are non-refundable, including for withdrawal, absence, illness, injury, suspension or missed sessions. The Academy may reschedule, relocate or cancel sessions due to factors beyond its control.

3. Player Health and Safety

You agree to provide accurate health information when requested. Players may only participate if medically fit. Any change in health must be reported to the Academy immediately. In case of injury or illness, the player must stop immediately and inform a coach. The Academy may suspend or cancel membership if health conditions put anyone at risk. Medical consent: In an emergency, you authorise the Academy’s staff to obtain medical treatment and agree to cover associated costs.

4. Insurance

All players must have current Basketball South Australia (BSA) registration and insurance before taking part in any training or games.

5. Code of Conduct

All members, parents and spectators agree to show respect, display good sportsmanship, communicate absences, represent the Daredevils positively, and refrain from abusive or disruptive behaviour. Breaches may result in suspension or cancellation without refund.

6. Photography and Media Consent

By participating in Daredevils training sessions and/or games, you grant Daredevils Basketball Academy permission to use photos or videos taken during training, games or events for promotional purposes, including social media and printed materials. Parents/guardians may opt out at any time by written notice. Previously published materials will not be withdrawn.

7. Facilities

The Academy trains at third-party venues and is not responsible for their condition or availability. Members agree to follow all venue rules and directions and respect facilities and staff.

8. Personal Belongings

Players should not bring valuables to training or games. The Academy is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged belongings.

9. Liability and Indemnity

Participation in sport involves inherent risks. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Academy, its coaches, employees and volunteers are not liable for any injury, loss or damage, whether arising through negligence or otherwise. The participant (and parent/guardian, if under 18) agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Academy against any claim or cost arising from their conduct or breach of this agreement. Participation is at the participant’s own risk.

10. Communication

All official communication will be sent via email. By providing contact details, you consent to receive electronic communications. Please ensure your contact details remain up to date.

11. Suspension or Cancellation of Membership

The Academy may suspend or cancel membership for breach of this agreement, non-payment, or unsafe/disruptive behaviour. No refunds or credits will be issued. Parents/guardians withdrawing a child must give at least two weeks’ written notice before the next season.

12. Governing Law

This agreement is governed by the laws of South Australia, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of South Australian courts.

13. Acknowledgement and Consent

By participating in Daredevils training sessions and/or games, and paying the associated fees, I acknowledge that:

• I have read and understood this agreement and agree to its terms.

• I consent to participation in Academy activities.

• I confirm the participant is medically fit.

• I consent to the use of images or videos unless I have opted out in writing.

• I accept responsibility for any injury, loss or damage arising from participation, except where required by law.
